LONDON — Tottenham forward Richarlison’s potential transfer to Vasco da Gama has collapsed, leaving the 29-year-old’s future at the club uncertain as the Brazilian transfer window nears its Friday night deadline. While sources indicated that Tottenham had reached an agreement on a fee with the Brazilian side, the deal failed to materialize due to unresolved issues regarding personal terms.
The breakdown follows a similar scenario earlier in the window, when a proposed £35m move to Everton fell through due to a disagreement on personal terms. Richarlison is currently excluded from Tottenham’s Premier League squad, and reports suggest a dispute exists between the player and the club regarding the remaining nine months of his contract. While the forward is reportedly exploring options for a release, Tottenham retains the right to trigger a 12-month extension on his current deal.

Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi declined to offer clarity on the situation during a news conference on Friday. When asked about the forward's status, De Zerbi stated, "I don't know. It's not my job." He added, "What I can say is I know very well what the club has done for Richarlison and I know very well what Richarlison has done for the club in the last month, two months. I know, the club knows, he knows, his agent knows."
