LONDON — Nico O'Reilly has withdrawn from the England squad through injury for the final two Nations League matches of the international break. The Manchester City left-back, who played for England at the 2026 World Cup, played the full game for Thomas Tuchel's side in the 3-2 defeat by Spain but missed Tuesday's 2-0 win against the Czech Republic.

O'Reilly has now returned to Manchester City for "further assessment" and will miss Saturday's trip to Croatia and the return game against the Czechs on Tuesday. England do not plan to call up any replacements for the double-header, leaving Tuchel to reshuffle his defensive options for the closing fixtures.

Lewis Hall replaced O'Reilly against the Czech Republic, with the Newcastle United full-back combining well with former Magpies team-mate Anthony Gordon on England's left flank. Hall's link-up with Gordon helped England secure the clean-sheet victory after O'Reilly had been trusted to start the opener against Spain.
