LAS VEGAS — Vegas Golden Knights forward Braeden Bowman signed a six-year contract extension Thursday carrying a $3.4 million average annual value, locking in the 23-year-old ahead of what could be his first full season in Vegas. The agreement rewards Bowman's emergence last season and gives Vegas long-term cost certainty on a young forward who earned an expanded opportunity.

Bowman appeared in 54 games for the Golden Knights last season, posting eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points. He made his impact early when captain Mark Stone was injured, stepping into a larger role and scoring goals in three consecutive games while registering at least a point in five straight contests, a stretch that highlighted his offensive upside.

The six-year term keeps Bowman in Vegas through his prime years at a $3.4 million cap hit per season. For a club that leaned on his production during Stone's absence, the extension secures depth scoring and continuity as Bowman prepares for a potential first full campaign with the Golden Knights.
