SEATTLE — Seattle Seahawks star safety Julian Love returned to practice in a limited capacity Wednesday ahead of Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, offering an encouraging sign after missing Week 3 against the Washington Commanders. Love injured his calf in practice last week and sat out the Commanders game, and while his status for Sunday remains unclear, limited participation is welcome progress.
Love headlined the first practice report of the week. The only player unable to participate was Seattle's other starting safety, Ty Okada, who has not practiced at all since the start of the regular season due to a hamstring injury.
Several others were limited Wednesday, including running backs George Holani (rib) and Jadarian Price (chest), left guard Grey Zabel (groin) and defensive tackle Jarran Reed (foot), with their availability to be tracked later in the week. Defensive tackle Leonard Williams was also listed as limited, though that designation appears to be for rest. Full participants included safety Nick Emmanwori, defensive tackle Brandon Pili and wide receiver Rashid Shaheed — positive news as Emmanwori continues his return from offseason ankle surgery and Pili returns from a neck injury that kept him out of Week 3 against the Commanders.
Running back Zach Charbonnet was not listed on the report as he remains on the PUP list and his 21-day practice window has not been opened. Head coach Mike Macdonald said "there is a chance" Charbonnet can practice Thursday.
