GREEN BAY — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has filed a lawsuit against a Wisconsin police department seeking to block the release of video footage, as the NFL pursues the material as part of its personal conduct review. The filing is aimed at preventing public release of the video while the league's review remains active.

The NFL is seeking the footage as part of its personal conduct review, leaving Jacobs on the commissioner's exempt list while that process continues. The designation holds him out of practice and games for Green Bay as the league works to obtain and evaluate the video at the center of the legal dispute.

There is no timetable for a return as the court challenge and the league review proceed on parallel tracks. Jacobs will remain on the commissioner's exempt list until the NFL completes its personal conduct review, leaving his status with the Packers on hold pending the outcome.
