ATLANTA — The Baltimore Ravens stunned the Atlanta Falcons 30-23 in overtime Sunday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, rallying late to steal a primetime victory without Lamar Jackson. Tyler Huntley engineered the tying drive, Kyle Hamilton delivered the game-ending takeaway, and Derrick Henry closed it out on the ground.
Huntley, nicknamed “Snoop,” settled after an uneven start and took command when it mattered most. He drove Baltimore 71 yards in under two minutes late in the fourth quarter for a game-tying touchdown and two-point conversion, then managed the overtime period by taking care of the ball, staying ahead of the sticks and chewing clock in the 10-minute frame. Any win without Jackson adds to his resume, and this one required poise under pressure.
Hamilton, the Georgia-raised All-Pro safety playing in front of 500 friends and family, slammed the door shut. Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa tried to look him off on the final play, but Hamilton was not fooled and secured the game-ending interception, a play worthy of his Defensive Player of the Year highlight reel. On offense, Henry outrushed Bijan Robinson on National Running Back Day, averaging 4.2 yards per carry while protecting the ball and picking up chunk gains on early downs before bullying a gassed Atlanta defense in overtime to set up the winning score. At 32 years old and 250 pounds, his ability to get the edge remains unparalleled.
The passing game ran through Baltimore’s top trio. Zay Flowers led in volume with eight catches for 53 yards, Rashod Bateman paced the group with 62 yards on five catches, and Tez Walker added a beautiful back-shoulder fade grab. Flowers and Bateman were vital on the final two drives that tied the game and won it in overtime. Kicker Loop provided the early foundation, going perfect 3-for-3 on field goals with an extra point and accounting for all nine of Baltimore’s first-half points on makes from 51, 51 and 21 yards to keep the Ravens within one possession. He remains perfect on 50-plus-yard kicks this season.
The comeback delivered on Baltimore’s pregame plan to lean on its backups, after controlling the clock with Huntley and Henry was identified as a key against a favored Atlanta team in primetime.
