DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson could miss four to six weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in Sunday's loss in Brazil, executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday, with an injured reserve stint now considered most likely.
Jones told 105.3 The Fan that Thompson exited the game after a bad-looking bend and is set to miss "four-plus weeks." The injury capped a costly afternoon in Brazil, where the field conditions were a matter of serious debate before and during the CBS broadcast and Dallas lost a handful of players to injuries.
The secondary is already thinned, with safety P.J. Locke on injured reserve and Malik Hooker also hurt with his return timeline still unclear. Dallas faces little relief ahead, traveling to Houston on the road this week before a short turnaround to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night.
