DALLAS — CeeDee Lamb is closing in on more Dallas Cowboys history, needing just 98 receiving yards to pass Drew Pearson on the franchise's all-time list with a chance to do it Sunday against Houston. The push comes after Lamb passed Dez Bryant on the all-time receiving list after the first week of the season, a notable climb given he has yet to play 100 career games.
Lamb now has the original member of Club 88 in his sights. Pearson, who first wore No. 88 for Dallas, sits just ahead of Lamb, who needs 98 yards to move past him. The next target is Tony Hill, with Lamb needing 264 yards to pass Hill and move into third place all-time in franchise receiving yards.
Both milestones figure to happen this season given the math involved, making it a matter of when and not if. Lamb's rapid ascent has been built on sustained production early in his career, and the matchup with Houston presents the first opportunity to clear the Pearson mark.
Chasing the top of the list will require more time. To pass Michael Irvin and Jason Witten at the top of the Cowboys' all-time receiving yards chart, Lamb will need to continue this level of production with Dallas for at least the next handful of years.
