Luka Doncic Vows Lakers Title Push in Passionate Book Essay

LOS ANGELES — Luka Doncic has laid out his championship plan as a Laker in a passionate essay for the franchise's new official history book, vowing he "won't rest" until Los Angeles wins again. The 528-page authorized visual book, "Lakers: An Official History of the Purple & Gold," was published by TASCHEN on Tuesday and features never-before-published artwork and photographs alongside original stories and essays from past and present members of the organization.

Doncic's contribution quickly spread on social media after an Instagram post from @jdeez shared excerpts. "Somehow, now I have landed in Los Angeles. I'm a Laker now. I'm not sure that I ever could have imagined being here and wearing the purple and gold. It's a wonderful surprise and it feels amazing and now I desperately want what all Lakers want: To win it all," Doncic wrote. "I won't rest until we win more championships."

The star guard also detailed an early moment with team leadership that framed his mindset. "On one of my first days as part of this incredible club… Jeanie Buss welcomed me into her office and showed me all the trophies that sit next to her desk, overlooking the practice court. She told me that now I will have the chance to write my own story as a Laker. That is what I plan to do," he wrote.

"I tend to let my game do most of the talking, but I want Lakers fans to know that I am ready, excited, and eager to deliver SO ready. This is a city that is used to winning and winning big. I am so honored and grateful that I get the chance now to write my own championship chapters," Doncic concluded, a message that has resonated with fans hoping his vow turns into titles.
