DENVER — Cam Whitmore has signed a Two-Way deal with the Denver Nuggets, securing his next NBA opportunity after a rapid series of transactions. Whitmore was most recently waived-and-stretched by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who acquired him from the Washington Wizards last month before moving on from the young wing.
The move follows an injury-interrupted season in Washington. Whitmore appeared in just 21 games last season due to a blood clot in his shoulder, averaging 9.2 points and 2.8 rebounds for the Wizards in limited action. The health setback sidelined him for much of the year and stalled momentum after his first two seasons in the league.
Whitmore entered the NBA as the 20th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft out of Villanova, viewed as a first-round talent with scoring upside. Now on a Two-Way deal in Denver, he will have the chance to compete for playing time and rebuild his value within the Nuggets' system. The structure allows him to split time between Denver and its G League affiliate as he works back to full availability after last season's limited run.
