LOS ANGELES — Tarik Skubal delivered a career-high 8 innings for the Los Angeles Dodgers in their season-best sixth consecutive victory, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 5-2 on September 8 at Dodger Stadium.

Skubal allowed just two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and no walks. The Dodgers scored three runs in the third inning off Reds starter Nick Lodolo and added two more in the seventh to secure the win. Manager Dave Roberts praised Skubal’s command and efficiency: 'He was sharp from the first pitch. That’s what we need from our starters.'

The outing marked Skubal’s longest start as a Dodger and his first time reaching the eighth inning since joining the team mid-season. His performance helped solidify the Dodgers’ rotation depth during a critical stretch of the campaign. The bullpen recorded the final inning without incident.

With the win, the Dodgers extended their winning streak to six games, improving their standing in the NL West. They will face the Reds again on September 9 in the second game of the series.
