MEDINAH — The United States holds a 3-2 lead over the International team after Day 1 of the 16th Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club Course No. 3, with Day 2 foursomes set to continue Friday. U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker and International captain Geoff Ogilvy guide their sides into the second of five sessions at the biennial event.
Friday features five foursomes matches. Coverage runs 2-7 p.m. with Presidents Cup Day 2 foursomes on Golf Channel and Golf Channel mobile, followed by Live From the Presidents Cup from 7-9 p.m. on Golf Channel and Golf Channel mobile. Ogilvy's roster includes major winners Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama and Ryan Fox as the Internationals look to erase the early deficit.
Golf Channel and Golf Channel mobile will continue to provide live, on-site coverage from Medinah over the next three days, with network coverage expanding for the weekend. Saturday begins with Day 3 fourballs from 8-9 a.m. on Golf Channel and Golf Channel mobile, then 9 a.m.-7 p.m. for fourballs and foursomes on NBC and Peacock. Sunday's final-day singles are scheduled for Noon-6 p.m. on NBC and Peacock, followed by Live From the Presidents Cup from 6-8 p.m. on Golf Channel and Golf Channel mobile.
The U.S. leads the one-sided biennial affair 13-1-1, with the International team's lone victory coming in 1998 in Australia. The Americans' fast start follows Koivun's debut win that helped stake the U.S. to its 3-2 lead on Thursday at Medinah.
