SAN JUAN — Vasiliy Lomachenko is set to end his retirement, confirming plans to return to professional boxing in November at the 130lbs weight class. The 38-year-old announced his intentions during an appearance in Puerto Rico, as reported by broadcaster Brian Custer.

Lomachenko, who stepped away from the sport in 2024 following an 11th-round stoppage victory over George Kambosos Jr. for the IBF lightweight title, is now operating as a free agent following the expiration of his promotional deal with Top Rank. While his future promotional path remains unconfirmed, a potential return to the ring could place him in contention for high-profile matchups.

Among the possibilities for the Ukrainian is a future clash with the winner of the upcoming super-featherweight unification bout between Emanuel Navarrete and O’Shaquie Foster, scheduled for October 24. Foster has publicly expressed interest in facing Lomachenko, though the division also features mandatory challengers such as the WBO’s Charly Suarez who are awaiting title opportunities.
