CARDIFF — The highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is increasingly likely to take place in the United Kingdom, though the move may force a change to the fight's scheduled date. While organizers SELA and broadcaster Netflix previously favored a New York location, promoter Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua have maintained their stance for a UK-based event.

Cardiff’s Principality Stadium has emerged as the frontrunner to host the contest. However, the previously proposed date of November 20 is now considered unlikely. Spencer Brown, manager for Tyson Fury, confirmed to Sky Sports that a December date is now a viable option. "November and December are both in play but we like December as an option, everyone would be winding up work for the holidays, it would be the best Christmas party in the world," Brown stated.

Despite ongoing negotiations and a public disagreement between Zuffa Boxing chief Dana White and Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, Brown remains optimistic about the event's progress. Three potential venues remain under consideration, with Cardiff and Wembley currently in the running. "It’s inching closer and it looks like it could be the British Boxing Bonanza that we all hoped for taking place in Britain," Brown added.
