LAS VEGAS — Retired boxing star Terence Crawford has publicly addressed WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia, suggesting a potential return to the ring following Garcia’s recent performance. Garcia retained his title last Saturday in Las Vegas with a second-round knockout victory over Conor Benn, a result that prompted renewed calls from the champion for a high-profile showdown against the former pound-for-pound king.
Crawford, who retired in December 2025 following his victory over Canelo Alvarez, responded to Garcia’s persistent challenges via social media. “I’ll f**k Ryan Garcia up so bad people going to be calling the law on me talking about child abuse,” Crawford wrote. “Like why did you do that to that little boy you knew he was just talking for the entertainment. Here I am.”
The exchange follows recent friction between the two fighters, with Garcia reportedly taking issue with Crawford’s involvement in Conor Benn’s training camp leading up to their bout. Despite the public war of words and support for the matchup from powerbroker Turki Alalshikh, a return for Crawford remains speculative. Garcia is currently linked to a potential 2027 unification bout against WBA welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez.
