CARDIFF — Negotiations for the long-awaited heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua appear to be gaining momentum. Following stalled talks over a proposed venue in New York City, reports suggest the all-British contest is back on the table for a potential December date at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The path to the ring has been complex, with organizers previously at odds over the location despite Joshua having signed a contract for a United Kingdom bout. It remains to be determined if the event will be scheduled for early morning hours to accommodate a Netflix broadcast for the United States audience.

‘Fight Your Corner’

Peter Fury, uncle and former trainer of Tyson Fury, recently shared his perspective on the tactical nature of the fight on the 'Fight Your Corner' podcast. “He [Fury] is either going to outbox [him] and he will get to Joshua or Joshua is gonna find the target and he will clean him out,” Peter Fury stated. “So, it is one or the other, isn’t it? I think it all comes down to what game plans they are going to do.”

The two fighters last appeared in the ring in July, with Fury defeating Mariusz Wach and Joshua securing a victory over Kristian Prenga. As the 2026 calendar nears its conclusion, fans await official confirmation of what is positioned to be one of the year's most significant boxing events.
