QUEBEC — Undefeated IBF super-middleweight champion Osleys Iglesias has set his sights on a unification clash against the winner of the upcoming bout between Canelo Alvarez and Christian Mbilli. Iglesias, who holds a 16-0 record with 15 knockouts, issued the challenge following his seventh-round stoppage victory over Oliver Zaren on Thursday.
The 28-year-old Cuban, who trains under Marc Ramsay in Canada, secured his IBF title in April with an eighth-round finish of Pavel Silyagin. Following his latest win, Iglesias expressed his clear intentions for his next appearance in the ring. “I hope the winner faces me. I’d like my next fight to be a unification,” Iglesias said.
The target bout between Alvarez and Mbilli is scheduled for October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mbilli, who was upgraded to full WBC champion following Terence Crawford’s retirement, enters the contest after a 10-round draw against Lester Martinez in September 2025. Alvarez, meanwhile, is looking to reclaim a portion of the undisputed crown after his previous loss to Crawford.
Iglesias’s recent opponent, Zaren, entered the ring as an unbeaten contender but was pulled from the fight by his trainer, former world champion Mikkel Kessler, after absorbing a sustained beating. Iglesias continues to maintain an active schedule, having successfully competed twice in 2026.
