LAS VEGAS — Jermall Charlo has withdrawn from his scheduled October 17 bout against Kane Mazoudier due to injury, with former WBA titlist Jose Armando Resendiz stepping in as his replacement on the Sebastian Fundora vs. Ermal Hadribeaj show in Las Vegas.

The withdrawal marks the second time in three months the matchup has fallen apart. Charlo (34-0, 23 KO) failed to secure a visa for their planned clash in New South Wales this summer, and despite Mazoudier's (16-4-1, 6 KO) local appeal, PBC moved the bout to the Fundora-Hadribeaj card. Charlo has now fought just three times in six years.

Resendiz (16-3, 11 KO) arrives after a brief title run that saw him upset Caleb Plant for the belt last year before losing it to Jaime Munguia in his inaugural defense. The pairing remains a size mismatch, as Mazoudier is a blown-up super welterweight while Resendiz typically competes at middleweight and is coming off a loss.

The evening's other undercard bout remains intact, with Brandon Figueroa's featherweight title defense against Tomoki Kameda still scheduled for the October 17 card. Resendiz's title reign ended against Jaime Munguia, who recently faced a mandatory title situation.
