RIYADH — Hamzah Sheeraz has weighed in on the upcoming super-middleweight clash between Canelo Alvarez and WBC champion Christian Mbilli, set for October 31 in Riyadh. The bout marks Alvarez’s return to the ring following a 13-month absence due to an elbow injury.

Sheeraz, who secured the WBO world title in May, dismissed concerns regarding the 36-year-old Alvarez’s form. Speaking to Ring Magazine, Sheeraz noted, “I don’t see it being the end of Canelo, and I’ll tell you why. I truly believe Mbilli is tailor-made for Canelo. He doesn’t move his feet. He comes forward. He’s there to be hit, and I believe Canelo will get him out of there late.”

Alvarez, who previously held the undisputed crown before losing to Terence Crawford, is looking to reclaim momentum in the division. Sheeraz added that if the stoppage does not materialize, he expects “a very comfortable unanimous decision victory” for the Mexican star. The event, titled ‘Mexico vs. The World,’ will feature at least two additional world title bouts on the undercard.
