LONDON — Daniel Dubois prepares to defend his WBO heavyweight title this weekend in an immediate rematch against Fabio Wardley. The bout follows their initial encounter in May, where Dubois overcame two early knockdowns to secure an 11th-round stoppage victory.

Former super-middleweight world champion George Groves offered his assessment of the upcoming fight on Sky Sports’ ‘Toe2Toe Podcast,’ dismissing Wardley’s claims that he was in control of the first meeting. “I have seen him say ‘I caught him, I hurt him, I blew it. It was mine to lose,’ and I don’t think that is the case, to be honest,” Groves said. “Dubois is the better boxer, he has better movement, faster hands, they both can crack but Dubois has got crazy power.”

Groves noted that while Wardley possesses size and strength, he remains a limited boxer compared to the champion. However, the analyst cautioned that Dubois must maintain his focus to avoid an upset. “Really, it is about what is going on in Daniel’s head. If he has the mentality of, ‘I beat this guy, all I have got to do is show up, I am a better boxer,’ then he might come unstuck,” Groves added. The card also features a British lightweight title bout between Louie O’Doherty and Michael Gomez Jr.
