ARLINGTON — Ellie Scotney has withdrawn with an unspecified injury from her November 8 challenge for the WBC featherweight title against Tiara Brown at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. The bout was set to be Scotney's first at 125 pounds since her 2020 debut, and her return to the division will now have to wait.

Scotney, 12-0, gained undisputed status at junior featherweight in her most recent bout when she defeated Mayelli Flores in April. "We're disappointed Ellie Scotney is unable to compete, we wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her and Tiara Brown back in the ring soon," stated Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of MVP.

Alycia Baumgardner's clash with IBF lightweight boss Elif Nur Turhan remains the main event in Texas. Ramla Ali's battle with Mikiah Kreps for the vacant WBO and IBF junior featherweight belts is now the chief support, while Brittany Sims vs. Shera Mae Patrico for the vacant WBA strap at 118 pounds has subsequently been added to the bill.
