CARDIFF — WBC world champion Agit Kabayel has weighed in on the upcoming heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, scheduled for December 11 at Principality Stadium. Having sparred with both fighters, Kabayel noted that while Joshua possesses unique power, Fury’s technical ability remains a significant factor.
Kabayel acknowledged the threat posed by Joshua, stating, “The better boxing IQ is with Fury, but only one guy in the heavyweight division can beat guys with one hand.” Despite highlighting the danger in Joshua’s right hand, Kabayel predicted that the 38-year-old Fury will likely secure a victory by points or knockout.
The matchup arrives with both fighters facing different recent trajectories. Fury enters the bout following victories over Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach. Conversely, the 36-year-old Joshua experienced a difficult outing in July against Kristian Prenga, where he was knocked down twice in the opening round before securing a stoppage win. Kabayel, who is eyeing a potential unification bout against the winner, remains a keen observer of the contest for the WBA ‘super’ title.
